Cobbly — privacy policy

Cobbly is an Android game published under the name “ideopus”. This page says which data passes through the game, where it goes, and what you can do about it.

In short: the game has no server, asks you for no account and sends statistics to no one. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google's ads (AdMob) need and, if you use Google Play Games, your achievement progress. Plus whatever you choose to share.

Game data stays on your phone

Your progress, your settings and the counters you see in “you” are saved only on your phone. Nobody receives them: not ideopus, not anyone else.

• If Android backup is on, Android may copy them into your Google account's backup, as it does for other apps. Google manages that backup, and you can turn it off in your phone's settings.
• Uninstalling the game deletes the data on your phone.

The game does not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos or microphone, and asks for no permission to do so.

Ads: Google AdMob

The game is free and shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). To show them, and to count them without fraud, AdMob receives data from your phone such as:

• Android's advertising ID;
• your IP address;
• your phone model and language;
• your interactions with ads.

Consent. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, before any ad the game opens Google's consent window, with “consent”, “do not consent” and “manage options”.

• If you do not consent, Google can only show non-personalised or limited ads.
• You can change your mind at any time, from the “ad consent” row in “you”.
• You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's settings (Privacy → Ads).

The legal basis is your consent, for personalised ads and for access to the advertising ID. For limited ads, it is the legitimate interest in keeping the game free and preventing fraud.

Google processes this data as an independent controller, under its own rules: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Play Games

If you are already signed in to Google Play Games on your phone, the game sends your achievement progress to Google, so you can see it in your profile. The game never asks you to sign in: if you don't use Play Games, nothing is sent. The game reads the achievement names, not your name or email.

Google manages your profile data, under its Privacy Policy.

What you share

The postcard of a daily board and the “how it went” report in “you” leave your phone only if you tap the button. They go wherever you choose, through Android's share sheet. The report contains only the game's numbers, and nothing that says who you are.

If you write to us, or send the report, at info@ideopus.it, we will use your message and email address only to reply. We keep them for 12 months, then delete them.

Age

Cobbly is meant for people aged 13 or over. If your country sets a higher age for giving consent on your own (in Italy, 14), the choice in the ad consent window should be made with a parent.

Data outside the European Union

Google may process ad and Play Games data outside the European Union, for example in the United States. It does so with the safeguards required by the GDPR: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• access your data, and have it corrected or erased;
• restrict processing or object to it;
• data portability;
• withdraw your consent at any time.

Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful.

The game keeps none of your data off your phone. For ad and Play Games data, the request usually goes to Google, but do write to info@ideopus.it and we will help.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of the country where you live.
